The Flamingo Chronicles Giveaway

I am sharing a post from Anita from her blog The Flamingo Chronicles. She is on the design team for Frosted Designs. She created a layout for the quote blog hop and it is beautiful!!  She is also giving away a prize!! PLEASE go check her out. Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Things of Life/Frosted Designs Quote Blog Hop

Frosted Designs is having another blog hop.  If you haven't stopped by do so. You have until July 31st.  For this quote challenge you must create a project using part or all of the following quote:  "It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all." Laura Ingalls Wilder. I decided not to use the whole quote just part of it. The part that caught my attention was 'simple things of life.' It fit perfectly with the picture I used on my layout.

The products I used are Brazill, Teresa Collins, American Crafts, Studio Calico and Fancy Pants. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Me and Willie/Let's Get Sketchy

It's not the real Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty. It is just a cardboard cut out we found at Wal-Mart. Of course, I put Noah beside it and got him to pose and the whole time I am thinking this is going to be great for a scrapbook layout. Does anyone else do this? I used the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. I used Later Sk8r from Close to my Heart.  The thickers are from American Crafts. The flair buttons are from a kit I purchased a while back. Here is the sketch and my layout.

Joy/Frosted Designs

Frosted Designs challenge is to create a project celebrating 'The Great Outdoors.' I decided to use a picture from our vacation. This was taken on our boat ride in Destin, Florida. I couldn't believe I actually got this shot of the dolphin following our boat, midair and with my iphone! I used Fancy Pants Down By the Shore collection. For the title I used Little Yellow Bicycle's canvas words. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Pals for Life/Scrap Our Stash

The challenge for Scrap Our Stash is to use the sketch and to use bling.  The photos I used are of my son Noah and his friend Kaleb. They had fun swimming ALL day! The supplies I used are Doodlebug, Bazzill, and Tim Holtz. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

The Sweetest Thing/Scrap the Boys

I found a scrapbook challenge blog called Scrap the Boys. The challenge this month is to create a layout using a black and white photograph.  I used a photo I took of him this past spring.  The supplies I used for this layout are Basic Grey, Studio Calico, Fancy Pants and Bazzill.  I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Big Shark/Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

I created this layout from a sketch from the blog Life.Paper.Scrapbook.  I decided to use pictures of my son from our vacation. He is fascinated by sharks, real or fake.  I used Bo Bunny's Key Lime.  I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Ready Set Go/Let's Get Sketchy

For this layout I used the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy blog.  I used Amy Tangerine's Ready Set Go.  I just need to add some journaling.  I used pictures from when my son was one. I can't believe he is seven now. Where does the time go? I also can't believe I have never used these in a layout. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Our Story/Use Your Words

I am excited to post my first layout for the new blog Use Your Words.  If you haven't checked them out do so.  This is going to be a great challenge!  The first challenge is to use the word STORY somewhere on your project.  I had decide to make a scrapbook album on my wedding.  This layout is going to be the first page.  I used Country Boutique from Fancy Pants. I also used flowers from Prima.  I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Bliss/About A Boy

The second challenge for this month from About A Boy is to create a layout about water in some way. I chose a picture of my son snorkeling.  I believe he would stay in the pool 24/7 if I let him! I used the collection Down By The Shore from Fancy Pants. I love the bright colors of this collection. I also used Little Yellow Bicycle and Studio Calico for embellishments.  I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Mr. Sparks/Sketch-N-Scrap

For the second sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap for July I used pictures from the first time I met Nicholas Sparks.  He is the author of many books that have been made into movies such as The Notebook, Message in a Bottle and A Walk to Remember.  I came across these pictures and realized I had not scrapped them! I used Echo Park's For the Record Collection.  Even though the sketch called for 3 pictures I only used 2.

Life is Good/Let's Get Sketchy

Today's layout is based on the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. Here is the sketch and my layout:

I used Fancy Pants Designs The Good Life collection.  Instead of cutting the photograph horizontal like the sketch, I cut it vertically.  This photo is from our trip to the beach. I never get tired of taking pictures of the beautiful sunsets at the beach.  I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Use Your Words Challenge Blog

I found a new blog that is starting up. It is Use Your Words by the talented Brenshevia. Her work is such an inspiration! The idea of this blog is to create a project using the challenge inspiration word. The word can be used in the title or in your journaling.  The word has to be seen somewhere on the project that you create. The challenge will be posted on the 1st and the 15th of each month. A Design Team Call is going on now. The dead line is today! I am super excited about this and can't wait!!

All Boy/Let's Get Sketchy and Scrap Our Stash

This layout is of my son on the Fourth of July. The rain stopped long enough for us to go outside to snap some pictures. I entered this layout into two challenges, Let's Get Sketchy and Scrap Our Stash

Let's Get Sketchy challenge was to use the sketch that was designed by Senior Design and Sketch Team member Jenessa Franco.
Here is the sketch:

Scrap our Stash's challenge was to use red, white, and blue with 3 or more pre-made star embellishments. The supplies I used are Bella Blvd, Bazzill, and Bo Bunny.

I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Flip Flops/Frosted Designs

This layout is totally different from anything I have done before. I wanted to do something special with this picture.  For the Frosted Designs challenge you had to use washi tape, twine, or ribbon.  But you had to use two of the three. I chose washi tape and twine. Here is my layout:

Here is an up close picture of my layout.
I love this picture. It reminds me of summer because all three of us are always in flip flops. The day it was taken was National Flip Flop Day! The supplies I used are:
Tim Holtz Distress Stains (picket fence and faded jeans)
Bazzill Kraft paper
Fancy Pants
Bella Blvd.
Jelli Bean Soup
Bo Bunny

I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Oh Snap!/Use Your Stuff

The challenge this week at Use Your Stuff is to use a film strip style on the layout. I immediately thought of the photos I found on my iPhone that my son took of himself. I used Bo Buuny's Mama-Razzi2 collection. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Love My Family/About A Boy

Happy Fourth of July! I hope everyone is having a great day!  The challenge from About A Boy is to use red, white and blue on a layout.  We can use neutrals such as white, black, kraft as your background.  I decided not to wait until today for a Fourth of July photo. There is an 80% chance of rain today and tomorrow! I decided to use a picture from our recent trip to the beach.  I didn't realize until I had finished the layout that we were wearing red, white, and blue! Here is my layout:
The supplies I used are Bazzill, Heidi Swapp, Tim Holtz, Authentique, Bo Bunny, Karen Foster, and Fancy Pants.
I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Our Day/Sketch-N-Scrap

Happy Fourth of July! I hope everyone is having a great day. It is pouring down raining here and will be most of the day. We are going to attempt to cook out later. Hopefully the rain will lighten up later for some fireworks. Sadly most of our day will probably be infront of the TV. Anyway, here is a layout I did using Sketch-N-Scrap's sketch for their challenge.

The supplies I used are Crate Paper, Tim Holtz, Technique Tuesday/Ali Edwards, Little Yellow Bicycle, Studio G and Bazzill. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Photo Day Challenges

I became addicted to photo day challenges last year. I try my best to go by the prompts, but sometimes I just can't get it. This month I am doing four. (I know 4!) With summer vacation in full swing this is my last month to really get it done. School starts next month for us and I know I will not complete all of them. I WILL take a picture every day.  To me that is the most important thing.  I became addicted to Capture Your 365 by Katrina Kennedy. Even if I didn't use the prompt I took a picture. Katrina also showed me how (through the prompts) to look at colors, angles, patterns and light. It opened up a whole new world! CY365 led me to Project Life.  Since I was taking a picture a day I wanted to utilize them.  Now I can't imagine not doing it! This year I started following Fat Mum Slim.  I recently found The Memory Nest. This will be my first time following this challenge.  Here are some of my pictures I have taken using prompts:

If you take lots of pictures using your iphone check out Big Picture Classes. Today is the first day for The Phone Photography Project class.  With this class is also a monthly photo challenge, my fourth! You can still register for it now. I hope you like this and give it a try! Thanks for stopping by!
